I upgraded my truck to a new Sierra with the All Terrain package. I decided that I like the blacked out look of the All Terrains better than the blingy chrome of the Denali trim, but otherwise they’re equipped pretty much identical other than the white and red Ranchos and some red stitching and faux carbon fiber on the inside. I bought black mirror covers and door handles to cover the chrome ones. I laid flat black vinyl over the chrome trim under the windows as well as the lower door molding. I laid gloss black vinyl over the running boards and the formerly polished portion of the wheels. I still need to tint the front windows and remove the chrome “Sierra” from the tailgate. I’m debating whether to black out the GMC emblems or leave them red. I think I’ll end up leaving them.

I think you made the right choice going with the blacked out over the Denali. I more prefer the Ram sport, but that's a pretty sharp looking truck!

5.3. I would have liked to try the new 8 speed that's paired with the 6.2, but I do no pulling and just can't justify the expense.

We bought a crew cab as a “family car” (only in texas...)

Definitely should have got the extended cab though, I think it was <6" of rear seat leg room difference. And then I could have got a mid-size bed. Short bed sucks, its always a few inches too short - wood, motorcycles, pallets, doesn’t matter. Indisputable fact of life, short bed is always juuuuuust barely too short.

Also I love that they have bench seats still. It was sweet for roadhead to pack in 6 people when I wanted

The bed is also the reason I stuck with the double cab. There is still plenty of room in the back seats, and I can close the gate with my four wheeler in the bed. My old truck had the bench, which I actually liked because we did ride six people a couple times. This one has the console, which is nice too. It even has a wireless phone charger if your device is compatible.

The incentives are always way better on the double cabs too. Several thousand in rebates vs usually none on the crews.
